Ndola Roar Campus
For years, Orchard has operated our ministry in a very mobile way and we’re proud of that. We’ve mainly done our children’s and youth gatherings on soccer pitches or under mango trees. Our church, in fact, started under mango tree. Our discipleship and team bonding takes place on running tracks or dusty bush trails. We meet in homes in the communities where we live and serve, and that’s something that has made a unique, but we are excited to announce that, in 2025, we are going to purchase and develop our first Roar Campus!
We have found a large plot of land that we are working toward purchasing. This site will operate like a ministry base and a missions training facility. We see it as a springboard where young Zambian missionaries will be trained and equipped to go out to places others can’t or won’t. This campus will be a safe, fun, and God-filled place where children can come freely with gates wide open to learn who they are and whose they are. And we see it as a place that teams from the US and other nations could come to be a part of something special in a nation that is very special to us.
The military’s forward operating bases are set up as secured operational positions that are used to conduct further operations and act as a strategic center. That so resonated with me because troops are there for a time and then go out and do their missions, then they’re able to come back and resupply and go out all over again. Strategic placement also struck me because Zambia is uniquely placed smack dab in the center of Africa surrounded by 8 neighbors: Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia.
What if?
Another exciting thing about this Roar Campus is the size of it. It’s large enough to have a quarter mile cross country-style running track on the inside of the fence! It will have a large gathering venue, and we plan to build dorms for some of our Young Lions, and dorms where visitors will stay. And there will be plenty facilities for mission and leadership equipping and learning, so pray with us that we will have all we need to purchase and build this dream out.
Please consider giving a gift if you feel so led, and one day soon, maybe you can even come run a few laps with us at the Roar Campus. Together, let’s build a springboard training facility, where lion leaders are sent across Sub-Saharan Africa, in Jesus’ name!
