Running Strong

It has been such a full year at Orchard, and you have been a BIG part of it all!

Jack & Anastasia

Heidi and I, along with Eli and Noah, were honored to be a part of Jack and Anastasia’s wedding in August!  I don’t feel old enough to have sons of marrying age!  But it was a beautiful day and we are so proud of the man Jack has become.  Welcome to the Orchard family, Anastasia…Mrs. Jack Power!

Maxwell’s Graduation

We are so proud of Maxwell — one of our original Young Lion sons, who has just completed his second year of an intensive Bible and Ministry Training Program at Teen Mission in the western outskirts of Ndola.  He was commissioned as a pastor and into the work of ministry in December and now must complete 9 months of internship service to fully graduate!  Orchard is working on an application to become an approved internship location so that Maxwell can come and start working with us in March as there has been so much growth since he started school!  We’re excited to get him back and he plans to be Orchard’s first ordained, licensed, and gazetted

Zambian pastor and missionary!

Roar Campus Land

Please continue praying with us for the land.  We have been in the process of obtaining this beautiful plot for over a year and a half now.  We have ticked every box and waited in every line and obtained almost all the necessary stamps and signatures.  We feel close to the finish line but the process is confusing and fragile.  Please do continue to pray that God will move in the right way and at the right time, that corruption and theft will not win the day, and that wherever and whenever it is, our Roar Campus would be a generational beacon of hope for this community and a springboard of missions training that will impact nations!

Junior Lion Runners

Our team gathers to train together three times each week, and many of the boys train on their own when the lions are not gathered.  Junior and Young Lions have competed in several regional races and done very well!  We are expecting big things in 2026 as the guys take on new goals and longer distances!  24 of our Junior Lions are also set to graduate their lion leader development course and move up to Young Lion status in February 2026!

Upside-Down Church

Our Upside-Down Church is thriving! One of the measures of the success of a church, in our eyes, is community impact.  Our Ndola team is organizing and leading child-and youth-focused ministry, discipleship, and service events every day of the week and though they’ve got their hands full, we all know that Chifubu is being transformed by the light of the Gospel message, the love we share with the kids of this special community, and the faith that is growing!  Chifubu’s future is bright!

Please also be on the lookout in 2026, for regular lion living updates, many scheduled special events, and exciting new resources including Jack Power Book #2, special devotionals, youth leadership development materials,

and a close-to-our-hearts book, six years in the making!
